CURRENT CLASS sCHEDULE
Meetings: the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month.
Time: 5:35pm- 7:00pm.
Location: 63 N Main St, Weaverville NC 28728 ( First Baptist Church) South Side
glass door entrance
Group Overview: Our group will
meet twice a month, following structured lessons from respected online guitar
learning platforms such as "Good Guitarist" and
"GuitarZoom." The primary goal is for members to practice the
assigned lessons independently at home and then review and refine these lessons
together during our group sessions. The focus of our lessons is on developing
acoustic guitar skills and enjoying the process of making music. A calendar
will be available soon, including practice links for each session to ensure
everyone stays on track.
About Me (Michael): I am
relatively new to playing the guitar, having started not long ago, and I formed
this group to foster the learning and growth of guitar skills among fellow
enthusiasts. As of 2024, I noticed a lack of beginner music groups specifically
geared toward veterans in our area, which inspired me to create this community.
If you are a veteran interested in learning the acoustic guitar in a
structured, beginner-friendly environment, I encourage you to join us.

Our Tai Chi form features visually captivating, fluid, and
graceful movements, all performed in a calm, meditative state. Known for its
gentle, low-impact nature, Tai Chi offers significant benefits, including
enhanced flexibility, improved balance, and increased range of motion. This
practice is ideal for promoting physical well-being while reducing stress and
fostering mental clarity.
We invite you to visit our YouTube channel, where you can master all eight sections of the form. The instructional videos are thoughtfully filmed in a mirror-image format, making learning both accessible and enjoyable. While we are not offering in-person lessons at this time, you are welcome to explore our online lessons by clicking below..
The "Seven Heavenly Postures" in Qigong's Seated Form is
a series of meditative exercises performed while seated. Each posture is
designed to align the body, enhance energy flow {Qi), and promote relaxation
and mindfulness. These postures typically focus on proper spinal alignment,
controlled breathing, and gentle movement or stillness to cultivate inner
peace, balance, and overall well-being. The practice integrates physical,
mental, and spiritual aspects, helping practitioners achieve a harmonious state
of body and mind.

Standing Tree / Standing Pole Qigong is a foundational practice in Qigong
where practitioners stand in a still, upright posture, resembling a tree. This
practice focuses on building inner strength, cultivating Qi (life energy), and
improving posture and balance. It is often used to develop mindfulness,
relaxation, and a deep connection between mind and body.

At American Buddhist Sangha / Zen Do USA we believe in the healing power of music, especially for those who have served our country. Our Veteran Guitar Group and Free Guitar Lessons program provide a safe space for veterans to express themselves, find camaraderie, and build new skills through music. However, we can't do it alone. To continue offering these services, we urgently need your help. By donating money or musical instruments—especially guitars—you can directly contribute to the well-being and emotional healing of veterans in need. Every contribution, big or small, goes a long way in providing the resources and support these brave individuals deserve. Together, we can offer them not just a guitar, but a sense of hope, community, and healing. To keep these vital programs running, we need your help. Your donation—whether monetary or in the form of a guitar—directly supports veterans in their journey toward healing and connection.
